The Blog functionality on your site has two main components, the Blog Page & the Blog Posts. The Blog Page is simply a list of all your Blog Posts in chronological order, form most to least recent. Its a Page that uses the Blog Template, and is usually located at /blog. If we transferred content from your previous blog to your Upkeep Media site, then there is a chance we are using your previous URL , for example /ourblog or /company/blog.
Here is an example of a Blog structure:
Site Root [ / ]
|--Our Blog [/blog]
|--My First Blog Article [/blog/my-first-blog-article]
|--Something Else to Write About [/blog/something-else-to-write-about]
|--One More Topic [/blog/one-more-topic]
Blog Posts, as the name implies, are the individual Blog Articles that you've written. They use the Post Template to display their content and must be children of the Blog Page in order to be listed properly. They are written in Markdown, have an additional field called Featured Image which allows you to set the main image that's displayed above your Blog Post excerpt in the Blog Page.
As Blog Posts are always children of a Blog Page, the parent's folder name will be prepended to the URL of the Post. For example if your Blog Page's folder name is
blog, and your Blog Post's folder name ismy-new-article, then the Post will be accessible atyourdomain.com/blog/my-new-article. To change this behaviour, read our article on URL Management.
